Successful Dinner for CJ Fund
Raises 20.000 Pounds
The Chris Jones Annual Awards Dinner was deemed a huge success
by all those that attended on Saturday night with around £20,000
being raised for this worthy cause. With nearly 500 guests on
the evening it was a busy schedule and was thoroughly enjoyed
by all. With compare for the evening being Trevor T who did a
splendid job and who had everyone up dancing round the tables
before the evening began, it was always set to be an entertaining
night!
With an auction and raffle during
the evening more funds were raised for the CJ Fund, which will
provide an Air Ambulance service at each round of the British
Superbike Championships in 2008. After the purchase of the mobile
X-Ray machine, which was on display during the evening and was
used a number of times during the 2007 season The Fund is certainly
doing its job. One of the highlights of the evening was James
Whitham received an auction bid of £55 to 'moonie' on stage,
much to everyone's amusement!
A whole host of riders attended the Dinner on Saturday night
and special thanks must go to them for giving up their time.

the 'Young Gun' award, the Laverty brothers won the 'Commitment
to Racing' award, Centurion Racing the 'Team of the Year' award

were given. MCRCB British Superbike Race Director Stuart Higgs
gave a valued speech on the Fund and the racing season so far
with clips from the new British Superbike DVD, looked upon in
amusement by the gaggle of BSB riders that had crowded near the
door, discussing race-by-race action!
Three people were selected randomly at the final British Superbike
round at Brands Hatch from thousands of people that bought raffle
tickets throughout the year to win a brand new Honda Fireblade.
The three winners were invited to the dinner and on the evening
and their prizes were chosen British Superbike Champion Ryuichi
Kiyonari and runner up Jonathan Rea, first place and the Honda
Fireblade went to David Henderson from Ireland, second prize
a Peugeot Scooter went to Charlie Mowbray from Huddersfield,
and third prize two BSB Season tickets went to William Dawkins

The National Motorcycle Museum put on a fantastic 5-course meal
for all the guests and they provided a brilliant venue for the
Dinner and were more than helpful throughout the day and evening
making sure all the guests were happy.
Thanks must go once again to the entire CJ Fund for putting on
such a special night and also for all the support from everyone,
the riders, Stuart Higgs and all his staff but most importantly
to all the loyal fans that have continued to support the Fund
and help it grow, thanks.
